National Voter Survey Reveals Stark Partisan Differences, But Unity On Preventing Future Pandemics
WASHINGTON – A new national voter survey conducted by Moore Information Group for American Dream Federal Action (ADFA) – an organization dedicated to electing forward-looking Republican candidates who want to protect America’s long-term economic and national security by advancing smart policy decisions now – provides key insights into the mood and priorities of the American electorate, including:
- Preventing future pandemics is important. Operation Warp Speed gets majority support from all parties, as does a federal candidate who will support long- term bio-security solutions to protect American jobs/fight against future pandemics. All parties also agree “gain-of-function” taxpayer funding should end, and that protecting against future pandemics is vital to U.S. national security.
- The nation is running on pessimism, except among Democrats. Republicans and Independents are more pessimistic about the direction of the country, but Democrats appear to be generally more optimistic. When it comes to partisan leanings in the U.S., we are seeing a national uptick in Republican vote behavior.
- Inflation/rising costs are driving voter pessimism. Voters are definitely concerned about their own personal financial situation as well as the nation’s economy (both currently and in the next year). And though all parties can agree inflation has been a hardship/inconvenience, Republicans and Independents are much more likely to lay the blame at Biden’s feet.
- These stark partisan differences extend to the perceptions of national politicos, as well. Republicans are widely unfavorable of Biden, while the reverse is true for Democrats. Independents aren’t impressed with Biden either. Democrats give Biden high marks for all his efforts (Ukraine, the economy, immigration, crime) but Republicans and Independents do not.
- Eight in 10 voters nationwide are concerned about the national debt, and very few think the federal government manages/spends tax dollars well.
- Producing American made energy is a winner across the board. Voters widely support reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources, keeping prices low and backing an “all of the above” energy plan.
